Elvis Pahr - Speedlight Pro Kit Pro Set
Just got my hands on the new Speedlight Pro Kit from http://www.speedlightprokit.com/
I really like the way these things look, I have no previous connection with these guys I just saw them posted here and harassed them until I got my hands on some :-).
I'd hoped at some stage to modify some 7" studio strobe reflectors to speedlights so they could take something like the Alien bees grids, but these things are better becasue they fold flat and weigh next to nothing. And being a modular system theres no end to the accessories and combinations they can create, theres add ons like barndoors comming very soon.

The package arrived via UPS..... As I held the box, I found myself wondering if there was anything in there at all..... The fact that I even stopped to wonder if the package contained anything speaks volumes about its weight

Steve Kossack - GV2 Ballhead Review
I've used this ballhead from Acratech Inc. in various incarnations from its creation. I've carried it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back and floated the canyon with it as well. It's always strapped to my backpack when I'm in the back country. In Monument Valley one year, I hit the head so hard against a rock while climbing to Hunts Mesa that I bent the release clamp and knob! I still was able to use it! At Mono Lake, a body of water much more saline than the pacific ocean, I once submerged it to just below the quick release plate. I've done the same with it many times in the sand dunes of Death Valley. While stored in my tripod bag it's constantly being crushed against the other tripods and heads when traveling. Truly I've tried to beat this design to death ..but failed!

The Luminous Landscape (V2 Ballhead and Levelling Base)
In photography, and especially with regard to photographic gear, it's sometime the little things that make the biggest difference.
Most photographers have come to know the benefits of using ballheads. Several years ago a small company called Acratech introduced a lightweight head that was the antitheses of most available until that time. It was small, beautifully made, and an ideal choice for use with a light weight carbon fibre tripod, for hiking and similar applications.
